This picture was taken on one of Bob's trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana.  He didn't take the picture.  That is Teri right in front of the brown horse, Bernie in the middle and Sheri in the lead.  Kind of a rocky trail.  I am jealous, would like to have been there for sure.
One of our great grand children.  We went to her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese yesterday.  Kiyanna was 4.  She is such a sweetheart.  We had a good time watching the kids play and have fun.  Last year she freaked out at Chuckie but not this year.  At first she had a death grip on her daddy's neck but she got over it.  I ate too much pizza.  Had a belly ache on the way home but I should have known better.

Today I was wishing so much for a video camera.  I looked out the kitchen window and watched my three mares having a racing good time.  All over the place.  That old Ditto can boogie when she gets a notion to.  She didn't last as long as the other two, but Rosie is pregnant (I hope) and she faded not too long after Ditto.  Sage kept it up for quite a bit though.  She looked so pretty running around in big circles around her pasture.

Just found out our youngest got a job and went to work for her first day today.  She has been looking for a long time and I am very proud of her.  She is a care giver.

I had a busy day today cleaning out our back bedroom.  It was such a mess.  So much of it is boxed up for a yard sale.  And, a lot of it is in the garbage.  It needs painting bad but I don't think I will get to that right away.

Our kitty, Tazzy, had her neutering surgery on Monday and was declawed.  She came home yesterday and was kind of groggy.  She seems OK today.  She doesn't get very far away from me.  She is such a cute kitty.

I hope your week is going well.

This is my most favorite trail at my most favorite place to ride.  I call it then Enchanted Trail.  It is so quiet except for the wind in the tall trees and a creek in the distance.  It is at the trail head Clearwater Crossing in Montana.  It is not too far before you get to Missoula.  We have seen deer, a bear, moose, and mountain goats.  It has a great trail head with camping areas, corrals for a number of horses and probably 10 hitch rails.  I could just sit on a log on this trail and listen.

Today Bob and I went out to state line and helped a very nice man with his horse.  Solomon is half mustang, half pinto and is a beautiful dun pinto.  He is well trained but the owner needs help.  I told him to get a helmet but first of all he needs to sensitive the horse so he doesn't spook and unseat him.  Bob waved his black hat and he really freaked.  So that was our advice to start with plastic bags, tarps, and all other sorts of things.  We will continue to try to get a hold of Ginger and see if she can take the horse for a few weeks and work with the two of them.

We did not get to church today.  I did not sleep much last night and Bob did not wake me.  I appreciated it so much.

It was so cold and windy today with a spitting of snow.  I about froze whenever I was outside.  Spring is coming, spring is coming spring is coming.  I keep telling myself.

I hope your Sunday was peaceful.

This picture was taken about a year ago.  My two horse loves.  Ditto is 32 and is looking a little frail but not too bad.  She got a lot of supplements and extra stall time this winter.  She needs her teeth done but that will have to wait a couple of months for our finances to catch up some.  She is queen of the place and of all the horses.  Just ask her and she will tell you.

Sage and her have a  buddy thing going.  At least on Sages part.  Ditto could care less but Sage has taken to watching out for her.  It is kind of sweet actually.

It is sunny today but only in the mid 30's and the wind is blowing.  Not conducive to going out and working with Sage.  If I didn't know there were only 5 days left in February and then March will be here and we  will very close to  Spring I might be more concerned about the weather.

This evening we are going to the Mule Club's annual dinner and auction.  No we don't have mules but a lot of our friends do and they invite us to go with them.  It is always fun.  No need to really dress up, just nice jeans etc. and lots of good food.

Tomorrow after church we are going to go help a man out by Liberty Lake with his Kiger mustang.  He (the horse) is gentled and he has ridden him but - he dumps the guy periodically.  The guy is pretty much in the need of help.  We will recommend a trainer friend, Ginger Swisher,  if he feels that is what he needs to do.  She will work with the horse and with him too.  I really wanted to send Sage to her but Marilyn did so much to help me I didn't.  Maybe we can give him some hints too if he will listen.  Sometimes people need to hear the word trainer in front of your name.  I don't know, we haven't met him yet.

I am about as anxious to get back on Sage as I was to get on her the first time.

Obviously not taken today - #1 it did not get above 35 degrees and #2 we still have snow on the ground and #3 I have not ridden her since last fall.  BUT, I have worked her the last 2 days in the round pen.  I don't think she has forgotten anything but she was frisky.  I would have liked to have saddled her but our tack room is not very big and stuff has gotten stuffed there all winter and I could not get it out.  I didn't intend to ride but would have liked to have it on her.

I had Justin all day.  He came at 5:30 this AM.  We both went back to sleep for a while.  At 4 months he is cutting a tooth.  Its just right there.  Of all mine, only Nikki cut teeth that early.  She did everything early - she walked at 8 months 2 days.

With Justin here, I went outside when he left and that is about all I accomplished today.    He will be here tomorrow too but does not come until 11.

Happy 16th. Birthday Ryan.  I know it was yesterday but I could not get a picture to load.  He is standing by his long board that he made in wood shop in school.  It is beautiful.  I asked him if He was going to use it and he said a little.  There is a clock sitting by the TV.  He made that for his parents for Christmas.  He is a good kid.

Sunday Katie and Cameron Dedicated Justin at church.  We don't baptize babies but we do dedicate them to the Lord and confirm that we want to raise them in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord.  I did not get a good one of the three of them but loved this picture of Katie and the Chunk a Munk.  My name for him.

Today I have been working on my quilt and cleaning up the house.  Gave Bob some things to take over to the shop and put in the yard sale stuff.  That puts some space in the back room.  There is a saddle in there that is for sale too.  We were going to take it to the 4H tack swap in March but the same weekend we are going to a big Rendezvous with Back Country Horsemen in Ellensburg.  That will be fun for sure.

My new glasses were supposed to be here today but I have not heard from them.  I am anxious to get them.  Then I will know if my consistent headache is caused by my eyes.  If not, I will have to break down and go to the doctor.

My ramblings recently have nothing to do with out mustangs nor our other horses.  They are still our there.  I was going to go work with Sage today but it is raining.  Grrrr, although it is making the snow leave quicker - however it makes more mud.  Can't have it both ways I guess.

Blessings to you all.

Justin

Isn't he growing?  He is a chunk and a half.  He does love his Nana.  And, that's me of course.

I tried to get a picture of Cody leaving today.  We had a really tough time getting him loaded.  It was a 2 horse slant and he really got claustrophobic.  Bob finally got him in.  They tried to stop and talk after he was in but we told them to get on the road.  I think he would then settle down.  He was just scared of the small space.

Bob took me to a late lunch today at the Prospector in the Wandemere area of Spokane.  I had a Southwestern Salad, a lot of chicken, avocado, tomatoes and greens.  Bob had something called something or other Italian.  It looked good but I don't eat cheese and it had a lot of cheese.  We had a good time and it was before the crowds started.  One of the advantages of being retired.

We took some things we had from the house next door when we cleaned it out.  We took them to a store that buys that kind of stuff.  We sold some of it.  Some of it is not worth anything.  Will just give most of it to Goodwill or first try to put it in a yard sale we are going to have in the later spring or summer.

Hope your Valentines Day was a good day.

Blessings

Some days you have to be a mind reader to get a picture to appear on the blog.  At least a computer mind reader.  This is the sunset last night off my front porch.  We have beautiful sunsets here.  Never get tired of looking or photographing them.

My headache has eased up but still has not gone away.  I am not sure if its my need for new glasses or my sinuses.  Oh well, I have tolerated headaches all my adult life.  I used to have migraines but only about once a year now.  That is often enough.

It was sunshiny and nice today but not warm.  If it would warm up a bit I would be outside.  Spring is approaching anyway.  I am waiting for it to stay above freezing at night.  It is in the low 20's most nights.

I started a stew today.  It takes about until the third day for it to be done and ready to eat.  Its in the crock pot.  I start out with the meat, onions and the spices for the first day.  Tomorrow I will put in the carrots and who knows what else.  The potatoes are the last because they get all squishy if they cook too long.  You all know though,  that I am sure.

If tomorrow is as nice as today I am going to work with Sage in the round pen.  She is such a good girl, I don't imagine she has forgotten much.  If Bob is around, I will have him help me get a saddle on her.  Bob swore he was going to start working Rusty but so far.................

Today Bob took 2 old computers and several old TV's that have been taking up space in the garage to a recycle place in Airway Heights.  Bob had Cameron take the hard drives out of the computers and he smashed them.  Don't remember what was on them.  Several broken down monitors too.  We were glad to find a place close to us.

I hope you all have a nice Valentines Day.  Bob will take me to dinner tomorrow night and I am going to bake him an Applesauce Spice Cake with Penuche frosting.  I don't bake them too often because my self control is badly tempted.  I love it.  However, so does he and he would like that better than any card.

Coyote Lakes Ice Cream AKA Cody leaves later this week to his new home in Ephrata.  I am praying he does well for the guy.  Now if Peanut Butter and Stella could go we would be in good shape.

I am sorry for the porn picture that showed up on some peoples computers.  It did not show up on mine or my girls but I have been told it was there by two or three others.  I don't know how it got there, who hacked in and put it there or how to get it off if I can't see it.  Ticks me off big, I would never do that.  Sorry.

I had my eyes checked today and my left eye has deteriorated some.  Have a new prescription.  I had a hard time picking out frames.  I wanted something kind of funky.  Its so hard for me to pick out frames.  They are black with some stuff on the ear pieces.  I got sun glasses made too.  Those frames are purple.  They will be ready on the 19th.  I knew the ones I have were not right.  And I hated the frames as soon as I got them.  I have a loo loo headache tonight so I am headed for bed early.  Every time they dilate my eyes then shine a bright light in them my head feels like it is blowing off.  It will be gone tomorrow.

Worked on my Snowball quilt some and started my horse one because I need some guidance on the Snowball one.  I am going to go visit Vikki tomorrow.  She will get me headed straight.

Ground is showing through.  Gosh things under where the snow has been looks gross though.  We will have some cleaning up to do when its all gone.  I mostly want it gone in the round pen and the arena but of course that is not melted and its icy.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Blessings

I loved this picture.  The camera focused on the frost covered branch but Ditto is in the back ground.  It surprised me.
IT IS COMPLETED.  The first quilt I have ever made.  It is all hand done.  All the centers are pint and all the back grounds have flowers.  I hand quilted it and crocheted around the edges.
I am quite proud of myself actually.  I wish I had taken a picture of the back of it.  A lot of the blower back grounds are pink roses, or rose buds.  I found a print that is pink roses that are a little larger but nearly the same print.  I singed it with the same pink as the edge.  I have already started blocks for the next one.  It is a dusty rose print and white.  I am going to make it queen sized.  This one is small but that's OK.

Kind of a slow day.  We had a man come from Ephrata to look at two of our horses - Peanut Butter and Cody.  He is making up his mind so who knows.  I hope he takes one of them.  Peanut Butter is the perfect age to start right now.  He just is coming 3.  He is half mustang and half Quarter horse.

Just had Justin for a little bit today.  He is getting so big.  He weighs about l8 pounds and is a week short of 4 months.

I hope you have a good Sunday.

Blessings.

These baby goats were all born the same day.  Shannan does not leave them with their mama's but milks them and for the first 48 hrs she gives them a bottle.
I went down one evening and helped her.  These 5 were my responsibility to get fed.  The yellow spots  tell Shannon what day they were born.  After 48 hrs. she puts them on a lamb bar.  You hold them on your lap kind of like a baby person and give them their bottle.  Only not on their backs.
This morning I looked out and Bob had Sage leading her around things in the back yard.  She thought that big spool was going to jump out and eat her.  She got better.  I am so grateful he is taking time to work with her for me.

I have been fighting a sore throat for a couple of days.  I am relatively sure it is sinus related.  If it doesn't go away by Friday I will have to call the doctor.

Tomorrow is our quilting group.  I am putting the last of the crocheted edge on my first quilt.  I would be done if I had not taken it out.  I started with white crotchet thread but that did not look good.  So I dug around and found a spool of pink thread.  That is looking great.

Bob is leaving in the morning to deliver 200 pounds of hamburger to a friend who bought it.  He is also taking a surprise gift for out youngest daughter from her oldest brother.  I wish I could be there to see the look on her face.  She has no idea.

We had sun today.  I wanted to get out and do something.  Its still icy in most places though and I really don't want to fall.

Have a wonderful Thursday,

Blessings.

My little WSU Cougar.  Just had to take his picture in the outfit.  He was really good today.
We have some banty chickens.  These eggs are just a little larger than a quail egg.  Love my little itty bitty chickens.  I have too many roosters though.
I found this quilt block on someones blog that I read.  I got an inspiration to do a similar one only with horses - horse prints and matching fabrics.  I want to show it to my quilting friend Vicki and show her.  I have my first quilt ready to start the crocheted edge on it.  Then I will show it to everyone.  I have already started a few blocks for the next one.  It will be rose pink and white.

Katie's horse Abby got a good report from the vet today.  The swelling is way down, this was the last day of Banamine.  She is still very sore clear up into her back.  It will take a while for all the muscles will be back in shape.  She is a very lucky horse.

Our Mustang and Burro Club met last night and made some big plans.  Now if the BLM brings the adoption to Spokane like we have been talking to them about, we are going to be ready.  Still plenty of time for some more planning to fine tune all the plans we made.  Not only to help the BLM and promote the mustang horses and to show off our own.

It is getting closer to the weather being suitable for riding.  It is just to icy now.  I would not want Sage to slip on the ice and hurt herself.

Today Bob and I had to pen up one of our oldest cows.  I feel bad.  She is due to calf in about a month and she is very lame.  She can't put her one hind foot down.  We put her in a pen with good shelter and we can feed her without her having to walk and compete with the other cows.

Hello February, glad to see you.

Blessings.
